The size of this giclee is 11 X 14 and is printed on high quality paper, using giclee style printing. The original illustration is by sports artist James Byrne and is limited to 100. Each giclee is hand signed and numbered personally by James Byrne. For customers not familiar with giclee printing, it is a higher end printing process which is becoming very popular in the art industry, below is a definition of giclee.
Giclee (zhee-klay) - The French word "giclee" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb "gicler" meaning "to squirt". The term "giclee print" is printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. |
